help us fly to neverland.
I’ve been meaning to repost this video for several days, but life has been unusually demanding of recent. However, today is the anniversary of Peter Pan’s first flight, and I noticed their upcoming deadline, so the the time is now. Can’t let the clock run out.
For those who are just now following my Tumblr; I’ve been making friends with an upcoming film production. I wrote them a letter expressing my love for Peter Pan and the material they’ve gathered to inspire their film. They responded with great kindness and appreciation. Since then I’ve been keeping in touch with them and doing my best to support them, because they are genuine artists who are working diligently to bring a fantastic story to life, but still need people to believe in them. I ask that you check out their promo video, as well as their Tumblr, and support this deserving group of wonderful filmmakers.
Beyond my liking for Peter Pan lore, tragic elements, and fantasy, this movie is something I wish to succeed for the sake of the people behind it. I want the film to succeed so I can see it, but I also want the people in the video who are working so hard on it to be rewarded for their efforts. They’ve been so responsive to their fans and really strike me as good people who just want to do good by their work. And that’s definitely something I want to support, cuz that’s pretty much me. But beyond that, they are making strong efforts to be creative and artistic. They don’t just want to get the job done, they want to do it well, and do it in a unique, creative way that requires hard work which they fully believe is worth doing. If you look at the work they put into their concept poster, you’ll notice how far they went to make sure everything was just right. They cut no corners, they didn’t make it easy, they didn’t compromise. They dedicated themselves to an idea and turned out a beautiful product. And that’s just in the poster. People like that should succeed.
I’ve never had a lot of money to spend, and I’ve never donated much more than my time and effort to a film project, but ever since I discovered East of Kensington I wanted to be a part of it. And if this is how I can support it, once I get a good paycheck, then great. It’ll be all the better for it. I encourage you do the same. When I finally get to see this movie I want it to be everything they envisioned, cuz that’s gonna be freaking amazing.
